Controversy Over Gay Ordinance In San Antonio Grows - Are we Followers or just Fans of Christ?

Issues:

David Ewell speaks about the recording of District 9 City Councilwoman Elisa Chan's comments on homosexuality during the Community Alliance for a United San Antonio event at City Hall in San Antonio on Friday, August 16, 2013. Ewell and his partner of 30 years adopted a six-month-old boy from Cambodia who is now 12-years-old.

Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller voiced his opinion this weekend on the proposed non-discrimination ordinance, leaving the liberals in San Antonio raging and fighting for their rainbow colors. Just Take Care of the Patient

Issues:

What causes a frail elderly person to become a patient in the hospital, and can we do something in the home to prevent that event? What causes some people to develop chronic illnesses, and can other people intervene to prevent the consequences of those illnesses?

What if healthcare reformers asked these questions rather than focusing (or appearing to focus) only on costs? Better yet, what if they recognized

Are Federation of Americans for Immigration Reform (FAIR), NumbersUSA, and Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) Really Playing the GOP for a Bunch of Suckers? SPIES IN THE CAMP - Part I

When you need advice, you talk someone you trust because you know that person's view of the world is one you share. You know that person does not have a hidden agenda that may be contrary to your own. If that person stands in opposition to you in those respects, would it change your mind about following their advice? It probably should. The GOP is in the same position on immigration. We are a party split between a majority that wants to resolve a broken immigration system and establish a sensible approach and a vocal minority

Liberal Cities Can’t Rely on Cops for Protection

Issues:

Uh oh, these bankrupt liberal cities are now having to rely on…the PRIVATE SECTOR! In the wake of all their money woes, many Liberal indoctrination centers (enclaves known as CITIES) looking into private (gasp) security.

When it takes a cop 45 minutes to respond to violent crime, you’d better have a backup plan in place. According to this report by CBS, incredibly slow response time is exactly what is happening in Oakland, CA: Read more about Liberal Cities Can’t Rely on Cops for Protection

Fort Hood Shooting Victims, Families Deserve Full Compensation, Benefits

Issues:

As the trial of Maj. Nidal Hasan draws the eyes of the nation, let us direct that attention to those who deserve it: the victims and their families.

The strength and resilience of the Fort Hood community is legendary. No U.S. military installation has deployed more troops into overseas theaters of combat since Sept. 11, 2001, than Fort Hood, and none have endured more combat casualties in both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Bono Rock and Roll Capitalism!

Issues:

Bono is a rock star, but he is also an anti-poverty activist. For years, he was a major proponent of foreign aid, debt cancellation, and worked to alleviate the dire plight of those suffering from HIV/AIDS, malaria and abject poverty. And he is a wealthy rock star, but unlike other rock stars, he truly understands the economic system that allows him his wealth and to pursue his charity endeavors is good. Elysium the Movie

Issues:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QILNSgou5BY

How many of you enjoy going to the movies? I go to be entertained to watch something that is basically not connected to my reality so I can escape for a short period and then forget the movie when I walk out the door.

What we need for victory in 2014 and beyond

Since 2012 there has been soul searching among Republicans about what went wrong and how we can win back the Senate and the White House as well as win local elections. What has been lacking is a serious discussion about what it means to be a conservative and thus what the Republican Party ought to stand for. No political strategy will be successful if we don't have a solidified sense of self. If Republicans are to expand our sphere of influence, we must first decide what it is they mean by conservatism. It is not enough to talk about protecting the border, cutting taxes, and defunding Obamacare.
