What Voters Think of Guns

Issues:

Note: Americas Majority Foundation, an organization that I work with, held several polls over the past three months, including post-election polls. In August, the foundation polled 1100 Hispanics, and in a national post-election poll, polled 1000 whites, 1000 blacks and 1000 Hispanics. Finally we polled black and Hispanic voters in New Mexico, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Illinois: states where America's PAC was involved. (We polled 3500 Hispanic voters in three states: Illinois, Wisconsin and New Mexico, and 2800 black voters in two states: Wisconsin and North Carolina.) Read more about What Voters Think of Guns

Russian Money Possibly Behind Anti-Fracking Protests

Issues:

The apparent shutdown of a Chevron fracking facility in Romania may be the results of efforts by Russia to stop natural gas production in Eastern Europe. Not long after opening the hydraulic fracturing facility in Pungesti, Romania, protesters began to stage confrontations that became violent at times.

“I was really shocked,” recalled the Mayor Vlasa Mircia in an article in the New York Times. “We never had protesters here and suddenly they were everywhere.” Read more about Russian Money Possibly Behind Anti-Fracking Protests

Elizabeth Warren building fake foreign policy credentials

Issues:

Hillary Clinton has the office closest to the door; the Democrats want her gone!

The evidence mounts almost daily, as Clinton dodges the arrows (and shoes), and Elizabeth Warren continues to shoot them. The fake Indian Senator from Massachusetts traveled to Israel over the weekend, in what is undoubtedly a sign that she will challenge Hillary Clinton. J.R.R. Tolkien on Liberty, Religion, Localism, and More

Issues:

Great conversation today with Jay Richards, co-author of The Hobbit Party: The Vision of Freedom that Tolkien Got and the West Forgot, about Tolkien as a writer and thinker, about themes in his work, about his views on liberty, religion, localism, and more, and about why he hated allegories. Have a listen! YouTube version below.

Examining Data Security at the Postal Service

Issues:

On Wednesday, I chaired a hearing held by the House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on the Federal Workforce, U.S. Postal Service and the Census. During this hearing my colleagues and I examined and questioned agency officials on the collection and distribution of mail cover information by the United States Postal Service (USPS), as well as concerns related to the agency’s recent data breach of personal information of their employees. May We Always Remain a Grateful Nation

Issues:

Today we give thanks for the miracle of freedom.

Our gift of liberty was first realized a century and a half before we ever signed the Declaration or Constitution—it was born when the Pilgrims risked their livelihood so that they might worship the Lord Almighty with all their hearts, souls, and minds. Landrieu's Last Gasp!

Issues:

The recent Senate vote on Keystone was the Democrats' way of sticking to one of their own, Mary Landrieu. In a desperate move to save Mary Landrieu’s career and pull out what now appears an insurmountable lead by her opponent Bill Cassidy, Harry Reid scheduled a vote on the Keystone pipeline to give Mary Landrieu one last chance to show she has clout and maybe by a miracle save her Senate seat.
