Congressman Randy Neugebauer's Comments on Ukraine

The Ukrainian people—like all people across the globe—deserve to choose their own government, and determine their own future. Russia’s escalating intervention in Ukraine is an insult to Ukraine’s sovereignty and to the principles of democracy.

Ukraine and Russia have a complex history and tensions have deepened since this past November. Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych rejected a deal to further ally Ukraine with the European Union.

Cornyn and NRA Join to Block Obama's Anti-Gun Surgeon General Nominee

After President Barack Obama nominated Dr. Vivek Murthy to be the next Surgeon General of the United States, a man described by the New York Times as “an internist and political ally,” Texas Senator John Cornyn and the National Rifle Association are joining forces to block the approval of the nomination according to statements they made to Breitbart Texas. Keeping Insurance Rates Reasonable

Without action, Coastal bend homeowners stood to suffer the epitome of a "double whammy" through skyrocketing rate increases to our flood and windstorm insurance. Im working hard to ensure this doesnt happen.

Uniting Conservatives: May Not Be What You Think

For some time now, almost all talk of the GOP has referred to a division between “establishment” and “tea party” camps. And there certainly has been contention with some considering tea party forces impractical and others considering establishment forces too conciliatory and ineffective in representing and advancing conservative ideals. And though there are obvious characters on each side, the lines are not entirely clear in the party. In The Senate for instance, name a handful on either side, and it's more ambiguous for most of the rest. But while

Experts Questioned on EPA Regulations and Job Loss

As a senior member of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, I questioned witnesses at a joint hearing held by the Subcommittees on Energy and Environment. The hearing focused on Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules on carbon capture and storage for new power plants. I questioned witnesses on how the EPA’s actions will affect consumers, businesses, and economic growth. Read more about Experts Questioned on EPA Regulations and Job Loss

To Slay The Dragon

If I hear one more representative of the broad spectrum of the right say, "The president just doesn't seem to understand...", "The president hasn't figured out...," "The president doesn't believe...," etc., etc....

These people can't be serious. Over five years, and even if he was a schoolchild with absolutely no awareness of history, surely he would have learned by continually pounding the same ideology into failure after failure, the economy and the culture

US House Approves TX Congressman’s Fix to Medicare Reimbursement for Doctors

The U.S. House of Representatives voted to repeal the 1997 Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) law to better compensate doctors treating patients on Medicare. The Resolution, H.R. 4015, was authored by Texas Republican Congressman Michael Burgess, M.D. Twelve Democrats joined 225 Republicans in supporting the bill.

In a statement obtained by Breitbart Texas after the vote, Congressman Burgess said, “I’m happy to report that the House has voted

Convicted 9/11 Terrorism Set Free in Syria

Issues:

I’m deeply troubled by reports that convicted 9/11 terrorist Mohammed Haydar Zammar has been set free in Syria. Zammar was being held by the Assad regime while serving a 12-year sentence. Recently, it seems that Zammar was released in a prisoner swap deal with the Syrian terrorist group Ahrar al-Sham.

Zammar is said to have been personally invited by Osama bin Laden to a terrorist training camp in 1996, and was the organizer for a travel service that shuttled terrorists to the region before the Sept. 11 attack on the United States. Zammar helped to recruit convicted 9/11 terrorist Mohammed Atta. Letting dangerous old-school terrorists like Zammar roam free is a dangerous proposition. This Week in Washington

This week, the House approved two bills to rein in the Administration’s unrestrained executive overreach. The Constitution clearly states that once laws are enacted, the president is tasked with responsibly enforcing them. However, throughout his presidency, President Obama has chosen to selectively enforce the law or sidestep Congress through executive action to push his political priorities. Most recently, the president unilaterally delayed or modified several parts of ObamaCare due to the law’s devastating impact on families and businesses. Read more about This Week in Washington

Trowbridge: Undocumented immigrants deserve in-state tuition

In the most recent Republican Primary, it was pitiful to watch the candidates try to avoid the question of in-state tuition for undocumented resident students. I wish they had all read the article below by Ronald L. Trowbridge, which was originally published in the Houston Chronicle:

Raging now is the heated issue of whether undocumented workers should be permitted in-state tuition. I boldly say, yes - for two reasons: One, educated immigrants pay back more to society than they take. Two, it is ethically right to grant such tuition.
