Sen. Cruz: The fight against Obamacare must continue in the face of Washington’s apathy

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today released the following statement regarding today’s proposed agreement:

Washington’s indifference to the plight of the American people has never been more apparent. Countless Americans all over the nation are being notified their premiums are skyrocketing. Others are losing jobs or seeing their work hours reduced, and thousands upon thousands are losing their healthcare plans altogether. All because of Obamacare. Read more about Sen. Odd Coincidence

Issues:

I received the following email from a constituent who forwarded me comments from a former government worker:

As a former government employee, I have worked for the government for over 40 years. During that time I became familiar with requisitions, bidding, and awarding contracts. It is time-consuming with bean counters and pencil neck bureaucrats. A request takes months, not days or even hours. In less than 8 hours of the shutdown, miraculously professionally printed 3x4 signs--with logos--appeared all over the country in the 1000s saying: "This park facility closed due to government shutdown.'' Moving Forward on the Farm Bill

I was honored to be appointed to the House-Senate conference committee on the Farm Bill on Saturday. A conference committee is created to resolve the differences between legislation passed by the House and Senate. While both the House and Senate strengthened crop insurance and moved to more market-based policies, there are still some differences we’ll have to bridge.

A Positive about Progressivism

There is a positive about progressivism: when libraries get looted, they don’t steal the books.

Mark Twain Library in Detroit is a testament to the state of Liberalism in America.

If the library were a Best Buy, there would be nothing left.

Look at all that is lost, because this city has been overrun by Leftist bureaucrats who have robbed the treasury, and created an environment where laziness is rewarded.

As an author, it’s sickening to see the literary works of so many people left as rubble. Read more about A Positive about Progressivism

Houston City Elections - Bill Frazer Discusses Houston's Debt Issues in Race for City Controller

Bill Frazer - CPA for Houston City ControllerFresh off of his major endorsement from the Houston Chronicle last week, I sat down again with Bill Frazer, conservative candidate for the City of Houston Controllers Office. As the only certified public accountant in the race, Frazer is already hard at work on digging into and shining a spotlight on some of the City of Houstons biggest financial issues - pensions and debt.

In this interview with Frazer, we drilled down specifically into the City of Houstons debt problems and the City Controllers role in shining light onto these problems. The current Controller, Ron Green, has done a poor job of exposing the debt problems of the city.

The Obama Administration has perpetrated assault after assault on the American people while the news media stands by with their pens pointed at the Tea Party, Conservatives, Christians and now the Veterans. How much more will the American people stand before the boiling point. Or are we there? Read more about “FREEDOM IS NOT FREE” – the STORMING of the WWII MEMORIAL

Food Stamp Glitch Gives Shoppers Unlimited Funds for Two Hours

Issues:

During a routine maintenance test by Xerox, a food stamp (EBT) vendor, a power outage caused a glitch in the cards in Springhill and Mansfield, LA. As a result, for two hours, the cards were showing no limit on the amount of government-funded money card-holders could spend, enabling them to clear out the shelves of Wal-Mart. Some customers were leaving the store with nearly ten cartfuls of food filled to the brim. Read more about Food Stamp Glitch Gives Shoppers Unlimited Funds for Two Hours
