TexasGOPVote Blogger Endorsements: Ken Paxton

Issues:

Another big endorsement for Ken Paxton! In the race for Attorney General, Ken Paxton is the only candidate who has actually been proven as a consistent, trustworthy pro-life leader based on a legislative record spanning more than a decade. With Ken Paxton, we don’t have to wonder if he will vote pro-life: we have a proven record we can count on.

I have known Ken Paxton for over 12 years and have been so fortunate to have him represent me, first as my State Representative

Federal Workers Offended by Obama's Partisan and Misleading Email Sent to All Government Work Inboxes Blaming House of Representatives for Shutdown

David Bellow Exclusive:

Crossing the line? President Obama sent a partisan and non-factual email to all Federal employees blaming the Republican controlled House of Representatives for the shutdown and claiming that the Senate and the President have nothing to do with the government shutdown.

Federal workers are not allowed to send partisan/political emails to other government workers using their

"Barrycading” progress

President Obama has been trying to make the government shutdown as visible and painful as possible. He has ordered the World War II veterans memorial to be "closed," preventing the otherwise free and unstaffed memorial from being accessed by thousands of veterans and tourists by cordoning off the area with what are being dubbed "barrycades" and stationing guards, some of whom are threatening WWII veterans with arrest.

Courage To Save The Constitution?

Issues:

In recent days, I have re-posted this link to my blog article several times. I've been animated with several posts over this Obamacare matter. But I think this one is of particularly critical note. This may be the coup de grace for our battered constitutional republic. Already groggy and disoriented, this looks like it may be the big roundhouse left hook that is the death of The Constitution. It's short and to the point. Read more about Courage To Save The Constitution?

Will Government Shutdown Kill Immigration Reform for This Year?

Issues:

As the Congress of the United States is now all consumed with one of its primary constitutional duties, creating a budget for government spending, hopes for a solution to our nation's border security and immigration problems seem to be dwindling quickly. After a visit this weekend to the Arizona/Mexico border and a meeting with the family of fallen Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, it is very sad to see this issue being kicked down the road. While You Were Sleeping – Environmentalists Make Grounds

Issues:

While we were all sleeping and being lulled into battle on the budget, the Obama administration is widely expected to nominate Neil Kornze to lead the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in the very near future. As a reminder, the BLM serves an important function for both the mining and energy industries. It is the BLM who sets the terms and conditions of the use of federal lands for the recovery of minerals and for the recovery of oil and gas. This agency will determine if a particular tract of land will even be listed as available for exploration.

Nationalization: One step at a time

Issues:

The people relying on Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security didn't fail. They (we) were sold a tax scheme (sound familiar, Justice Roberts?) that claimed to be insurance and pension plans.

If you've ever scoffed at the rumors that the Federal government might confiscate your retirement savings, it's time to reconsider. And you don't have to look to the actions of Greece, Ireland, Poland or Cyprus to do so. Read more about Nationalization: One step at a time

Jim DeMint is Coming to the Houston Area!

Issues:

Before Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Mike Lee, there stood a lone voice in the Senate fighting for liberty: Jim DeMint. After helping elect more like-minded conservatives to the Senate in the 2010 and 2012 elections, DeMint left the Senate to run the Heritage Foundation- the premiere conservative think tank and educational institute in the United States.

From his position at Heritage, DeMint has been able to lead his heirs in the Senate as they return the focus of government back to its true chief executive- We the People.

The Government Shutdown: How Did We Get Here?

The current Continuing Resolution to fund the government expired, resulting in a government shutdown. This outcome could have been avoided but, unfortunately, repeatedly throughout this process, the Senate refused to negotiate in good faith, and the President refused to negotiate at all. After rejecting three previous attempts to fund the government by the House, the Senate rejected a motion to go to a conference committee, which could have led to a compromise. The Senate and the President have made it very clear: it is their way or the highway. Read more about The Government Shutdown: How Did We Get Here?

Women Share Stories Of Empowerment From Armed Citizen Project Firearms Training

Issues:

The Armed Citizen Project, a Houston-based nonprofit providing training and arms to women and others for personal empowerment and self-reliance, has provided arms training to 150 citizens as of this month, mostly women.

The group, headed by Kyle Coplen, has released a video showing their most recent training of 50 women and providing personal stories.
