What's The Real Threat Of "Default?"

I DVR'd Sunday News programs while at church yesterday, as I have recorded back through VCR days, watching them in the afternoon. Default default default. EVERYONE is talking about "default." Even Chris Wallace on the supposedly conservative (it isn’t) FOX News Sunday program opened with a statement about the looming threat of "default." It's a bunch of crap.

As with so many things, people like Chris Wallace in this case, pick up the language because it's how everyone is talking. But in the event that an unprecedented "default," a failure to pay

Barry Smitherman Missed ZERO Votes out of 21,000 in 9 Years – Texas Attorney General Race Update

Issues:

I recently wrote an article revealing that Texas Attorney General Candidates Ken Paxton and Dan Branch missed several hundred votes each in their past 6 sessions in the Texas Legislature. Missing hundreds of votes is inexcusable considering these votes shape State law and they have a huge impact on the people the laws apply to. I contended that this shows a lack of the commitment and leadership that is needed to be the next Texas Attorney General. I suggested that Conservative Republican Barry Smitherman is the real deal leader that Texas needs as Attorney General because he has proven himself to be a committed, effective, passionate conservative Republican. Pentagon Still Not Paying Death Benefits, Despite Passage of H.J. Res 91

We lost five warriors on the battlefield of Afghanistan recently. They were 25-year-old 1st Lt. Jennifer M. Moreno; 24-year-old Pfc. Cody J. Patterson; 24-year-old Special Agent Joseph M. Peters; 25-year-old Sgt. Patrick C. Hawkins; and 19-year-old Lance Cpl. Jeremiah M. Collins, Jr.

Unfortunately, their families were given the news not only that they had lost their loved ones, but they were also told that they would not be given the

Congressman Stockman Investigating ATF use of IRS & Perjury to Target Kountze, TX Pastor

Issues:

An ATF agent, Tom Harm, is being investigated for allegedly using the IRS to target a Kountze, TX pastor, Tony Thornton. Harm, a former IRS agent, was caught on a recording telling Mr. Thornton that he is going to snoop around in the pastor’s finances and taxes. Jerry Patterson challenges Dan Patrick to Financial Disclosure after Clear Lake Tea Party Debate

Issues:

Last week at the Clear Lake Tea Party Lieutenant Governor’s candidate debate, Texas State Senator Dan Patrick and Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson exchanged comments about personal finances and retirement pay relating to an elected officials’ service in public office. At the event, Dan Patrick asked Jerry Patterson if he was going to have to take on an extra job in order to serve as Lieutenant Governor or if he would be depending on his military and state retirement pay. San Antonio Recall Efforts On Councilman Diego Bernal And NDO

Issues:

Gina Castaneda leader of the Recall Team is gathering the 6,000 signatures necessary to recall San Antonio Councilman Diego Bernal. Councilman Bernal initiated the non-discrimination ordinance that passed with a 8-3 vote by the San Antonio City Council.

Castaneda stands in front of her booth to attract other like minded citizens to sign the petition. “The self imposed deadline of October 31, 2013 will be reached, she told me. The turnout to sign the petition has been overwhelming.” Her plea to the people of San Antonio is a simple request.

Dan Branch Tweet Takes Shot at Ted Cruz? Wants Republicans to Give in to Obamacare?

Issues:

Texas Attorney General Candidate Dan Branch upset many conservatives yesterday over something that he retweeted on Twitter. Given the current standstill in Washington, the post from Branch seemed to imply that conservatives, like Ted Cruz, should not stand so strongly against Obamacare.

I suppose I am not surprised. Dan Branch has a long record of teaming up with Democrats to oppose the majority of Republicans and conservatives during his time in the Texas Legislature. That man canNOT become our next Texas Attorney General. He will compromise with Obama in court instead of fighting tooth and nail against him. Read more about Dan Branch Tweet Takes Shot at Ted Cruz? ATF Censors Free Speech

Issues:

As we continue to talk and discuss and debate the issues of the debt ceiling, of the continuing resolution, there are still things taking place in government. Some of them aren’t so good.

Just to give a little background, which you are certainly aware of, we have our Constitution with the Bill of Rights.

America’s Economic Future

House conservatives are united in our determination to cut federal spending and stop the out-of-control expansion of our national debt. Unfortunately, for the first time in our history, the president and his political followers do not respect our Constitution’s structural separation of powers, and they are refusing to negotiate with the House of Representatives. The Inconvenient Inconsistency Of The Administration – Debt Limit

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the United States Government cannot pay its debts. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our government’s reckless fiscal politics."

That was a statement by Senator Barack Obama in 2006. Read more about The Inconvenient Inconsistency Of The Administration – Debt Limit
