Michigan Open Carry BBQ Ends with No Shootings

Issues:

This is not good news for gun-grabbing Leftists. Chicago should take note. There was a BBQ in Michigan with open carry gun enthusiasts, and not a single shooting or death occurred.

When you consider that in Chicago, the Leftist gun-free zone, the other weekend 13 people got shot. And in the average weekend in gun-free Chicago 5 people are killed, you understand how impressive this feat is. Read more about Michigan Open Carry BBQ Ends with No Shootings

Government Shutdown: What Will Stay Open and What Will Close?

Due to continued disagreement over federal funding, certain so-called “non-essential” federal government activities have been shut down. Congress is continuing to work to reach a compromise and I am hopeful that we can resolve our differences soon. But in the meantime, I wanted to provide you with some information that may be of help.

I understand that a government shutdown can be a frustrating time. I want to assure you that making sure my constituents’ needs are met and views are heard is an essential operation of my office.

Democrats Reject Reasonable Proposals to Keep Government Open

Issues:

I appeared on Bloomberg last night to discuss Senate Democrats rejecting the House’s reasonable proposals to keep the government open and delay Obamacare.

Every reasonable proposal, including the last which would have delayed the individual mandate for a year, eliminated the special carve-out for Members of Congress, went down on a party-line vote. Read more about Democrats Reject Reasonable Proposals to Keep Government Open

Texas Right to Life Endorses Barry Smitherman for Attorney General

Issues:

Barry Smitherman, Texas Attorney General Candidate, and current chairman of the Texas Railroad Commission, is one of the STRONGEST opponents of abortion I have ever met. He is strongly pro-life and would vigorously defend the rights of the unborn as well as the pro-life laws in Texas. Texas Right to Life seems to agree as they have just enthusiastically endorsed Barry Smitherman.

One Woman’s Life of Hell in an Afghan Harem

Issues:

For the feminists in America who so love everything NOT American, here is one of your own, willing to suck it up and admit that she was wrong after being imprisoned in an Afghan harem. Perhaps feminists can all learn a thing or two about loving America?

Phyllis Chesler, 72, is a feminist scholar and a professor emerita of psychology and women’s studies at City University of New York. In her 14th book,

Update on the President's Budget Battle

In Texas, health insurance premiums on the individual market will increase by 53% for young males and 11% for young females under Obamacare.

With one day left until a possible government shutdown, we in the House voted again to keep the government running and protect Americans from the Obamacare trainwreck. We also passed legislation to ensure our military gets paid in the event of a shutdown.

Late Saturday night and into Sunday morning, we passed two amendments to the Senate amendments to the continuing resolution and the "Pay Our Military Act": Read more about Update on the President's Budget Battle

(VIDEO) SNL Mocks Obamacare in Hilarious Sketch

Last night's Saturday Night Live cold open did not have the Democrats' backs, which is a refreshing change from the norm. It looks like even pop culture is finding Obamacare as a humorous target for satire.

From a lazy son who gets to stay on his father's health care to Aaron Paul in his Breaking Bad character claiming that Obamacare caused his friend to become a meth-making killer, this skit is definitely worth a watch! Read more about (VIDEO) SNL Mocks Obamacare in Hilarious Sketch

Bad Poker And High Stakes With Obamacare

You must understand what is happening here. This play is a direct result of how the surrendered Republicans have played so far. As per the Rand Paul explanation, these Republicans ABSOLUTELY STINK at political poker. Reid rolled 'em once and he'll raise the stakes, expecting to roll them again. And he's probably right. He's playing with chumps. Read more about Bad Poker And High Stakes With Obamacare
