Bad Poker And High Stakes With Obamacare

You must understand what is happening here. This play is a direct result of how the surrendered Republicans have played so far. As per the Rand Paul explanation, these Republicans ABSOLUTELY STINK at political poker. Reid rolled 'em once and he'll raise the stakes, expecting to roll them again. And he's probably right. He's playing with chumps. Read more about Bad Poker And High Stakes With Obamacare

We are stronger when we are united

Unfortunately, yesterday 25 Republican Senators, including Texas Senator John Cornyn, joined with the Democrats to invoke cloture, giving Harry Reid the ability to strip the Continuing Resolution of language that defunds Obamacare.

Full Roll Call of vote here.

That is because John Cornyn and the rest of the Republicans who voted to support cloture have a different governing philosophy than Ted Cruz. There's a reason why Ted Cruz frequently refers to the American people as his "boss."

Will Our Ailing Constitution Finally Be Dead?

It has been chiseled away at all of my life and beyond. But I fear we may now be about the conclusive death and burial of The US Constitution that enabled the most productive, prosperous and generous nation that ever graced the human race. And many planners on the left will be pleased by that. But what is happening right now? Read more about Will Our Ailing Constitution Finally Be Dead?

Rush Limbaugh: Ted Cruz Wanted Friday Obamacare Vote because Saturday America is Watching Texas A&M’s Johnny “Football” Manziel

Senate Democrats had planned to use Johnny “Football” Manziel to distract people from the big Obamacare vote?

The cloture vote (vote to end debate) happened today. The Senate was originally pushing for a Saturday vote. This is the vote that Ted Cruz did not want to pass because with debate closed, it only takes 51 votes to amend the Continuing Resolution and add back in funding for Obamacare. Republicans cannot stop Harry Reid from getting 51 votes to amend the bill,

Vote for Cloture is Today! Make D.C. Listen!

Issues:

Ted Cruz’s filibuster was about energizing the people and forcing Washington, D.C. to hear what we have to say. And in that respect, it was overwhelmingly successful. Establishment Senators’ D.C. and district office phone lines blew up, resulting in many of them simply taking the phones off the hook.

D.C. has heard our voices, but not all have listened. In fact, many establishment Republicans- like John McCain and Peter King- are attacking those who did listen. This makes today’s vote to invoke cloture ever the more relevant in defining the Republican Party, as we will see whether establishment Republican Senators choose to stand with Harry Reid, or with conservatives. U.S. Congressman Blake Farenthold Launches Bipartisan Interstate 69 Congressional Caucus

Issues:

I joined five of my colleagues today in launching the bipartisan Interstate 69 Congressional Caucus to raise awareness of the strategic importance of I-69 as a freight corridor. I will serve as a co-chair of this caucus with Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28), Congressman Ed Whitfield (KY-01), Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), Congressman Larry Bucshon (IN-08), and Congressman Bennie Thompson (MS-02).

21 hours

Issues:

History was made earlier this week as Senator Ted Cruz finished a 21 hour filibuster on the Senate floor, where he stood from 2:40pm Tuesday until noon Wednesday, speaking on the perils of Obamacare and extolling the virtues of the free market. He flawlessly debated with Democrats such as Senators Dick Durbin and Tim Kaine, and held his own when Harry Reid tried to fool him with procedural tricks. Read more about 21 hours

Congressman John Culberson Hosts Town Hall Meeting: We've Got to Stick Together!

Issues:

Republican Congressman John Culberson of CD-7 hosted a town hall meeting for his constituents at Cy-Falls High School. The crowd was sparse, about fifty or so in attendance. The mood was relaxed, no crazy video taped confrontations or rude constituents, just concerned citizens waiting for an update from the Congressman.

I was surprised anybody made it out because as we all know, Senator Ted Cruz was in the throes of a filibuster to try and defund Obamacare in the Senate. You can imagine that the topic of conversation was focused on Obamacare. There were other concerns raised, such as the NSA spying scandal, in which Congressman Culberson denounced Edward Snowden as a traitor. The Congressman also said that he wouldn't vote to repeal the Patriot Act, which was in large part the reason the government was allowed to spy upon innocent American citizens, although he'll tell you that wasn't the intention of the Patriot Act. Oilfield Engineer Ryan Sitton Enters Crowded Field in Race for Texas Railroad Commission

Issues:

Ryan SittonHouston oilfield engineer and small business owner, Ryan Sitton, announced his campaign for the Texas Railroad Commission this week in Houston. Sitton enters a crowded field of candidates running to fill the seat vacated by Commission Chairman Barry Smitherman, who is now running for Texas Attorney General.

Sitton will campaign on the issues of technical experience and the conservative leadership that is so critical right now for our states energy regulatory commission. Sitton is the only candidate currently in the race who lives and works in the Houston metropolitan area and has put together the funds and resources necessary to run a statewide campaign.
