Scoop from CPAC: Artur Davis on Conservative Inclusion

Issues:

Day One of CPAC 2013 is over, and it is a great start to a conservative feast. The afternoon session “Conservative Inclusion: Promoting the Freedom Message to all Americans” was a panel discussion, whose members included The Honorable Artur Davis (an African American former Alabama Democrat Congressman, now ardent conservative Republican), Corey Stewart (candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, current Republican Chair of the Prince Williams County Board of Supervisors), Stephen Fogg (Chairman, Asian American Congress), and Manny Rosales (Latino Coalition/former Director of Coalitions, RNC). All were excellent. Read more about Scoop from CPAC: Artur Davis on Conservative Inclusion

The State Republican Executive Committee of the Republican Party of Texas (RPT) unanimously passed a strong resolution requesting and empowering our party chairman, Steve Munisteri, to urge

“…the Texas House Republican Caucus to follow the Republican Party of Texas Platform and stand with Governor Perry in opposing the expansion of Medicaid funding in Texas under Obamacare (Affordable Care Act).”

US Chamber of Commerce Says Doing Nothing about Our Current System of Immigration is Amnesty!

Issues:

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Supports Immigration ReformFor a long time now, I have been saying that doing nothing about our broken immigration system has created a de-facto amnetsty for the millions of illegal immigrants in this country. Now the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is catching up and saying the same thing. In a message to its members, Rob Engstrom, Seniro Vice President and National Political Director, U.S. Chamber of Commerce said, "The immigration system is broken. With over 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the U.S., doing nothing is de facto amnesty."

Nearly 40% of these 11 million people did not enter this country illegally. They came here legally and over-stayed their

Girls Gone Wild Hits Bankruptcy Courts - Maybe it should be Bankruptcy Judges Gone Wild!

Girls Gone Wild - Or is it Judges Robert Gerber and Robert Drain Gone Wild
Is it Girls or Bankruptcy Judges that have Gone Wild?

Researching everything going on in relation to the bankruptcy series I have been writing can be pretty dry. However, recently on Bankruptcy Law Review, I came across something that is both interesting and revealing at the same time. It seems the company behind Girls Gone Wild (GGW) has been forced into the bankruptcy courts. The Chapter 11 case was filed in the Central District of California bankruptcy courts in Los Angeles.

Congressman Neugebauer Bill Prevents Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Referrals in Public Schools

Issues:

I introduced legislation yesterday that will ensure taxpayer dollars aren’t funding abortion advocacy in public schools. H.R. 1122, the Protecting Life in Funding Education (PRO-LIFE) Act restricts funding to school districts that contract with third party “school-based health centers” unless they certify they won’t perform abortions and they won’t provide abortion referrals or materials to students. Mexican Officer: Military At War With Cartels In Nuevo Laredo

Issues:

A Mexican officer claims the military is indeed at war with drug cartels for territory in northern Mexico and that vast numbers of children have been left homeless and hungry by the war in the seemingly unreachable cartel-controlled territory. The officer spoke with me in person on the condition of anonymity. When I asked him to explain which cartels were fighting in Nuevo Laredo, he explained that things were not so simple and not so easily defined. Fast & Furious Holder Playing Fast & Loose with Space Weapons Technology

Issues:

Mainstream media has proven since 2007 to be one more arm of the Obama publicity and punditry machine: they highlight and cheer obama’s every perceived accomplishment and black out and cover up any of the president’s failings or missteps. The President Thinks There is No Debt Crisis

Issues:

This morning, I responded on the Senate floor to President Obama’s assertion in an interview with ABC News that there is no immediate debt crisis.

The President has said that we must embrace a "balanced approach" to deficit reduction. Of course, reasonable people can disagree on what a balanced approach looks like, but we all know what a balanced budget looks like.

If the President truly does want a balanced approach to our fiscal and economic challenges, he will stop leading from behind and start leading from out front. Read more about The President Thinks There is No Debt Crisis
