The State of the Union Address A Symbol of Our Democracy

Issues:

This evening, President Barack Obama will deliver his fifth State of the Union address before a joint session of Congress. In a time when we face the most divided Congress in history, tonight we will come together as one in the House chamber to hear the President’s address. Throughout history, past presidents did not always deliver a speech before Congress or the people, which he serves. Historically, under half of all presidents actually

California Gun Bans attack 2nd Amendment - NRA-ILAThis letter is to all of our conservative friends in the formerly great state of California. Have you had enough yet? LOL Tuesday – Demand a Plan Parody

Issues:

It’s LOL Tuesday…the day of the week I’ve decided everyone needs to laugh out loud. Mondays aren’t for laughing, they’re for cursing the sun and overdosing on coffee. Wednesday is already officially Hump Day and Thursday has the pleasurable distinction of being the day before Friday so it’s almost like Friday but not quite. Friday, Saturday and Sunday – well, they’re the weekend! Their importance in our culture will never be superseded. But Tuesday’s are just…there. Tuesday needs a “thing”. So it’s LOL Tuesday,

Turner Statement on North Korean Nuclear Test

Issues:

Congressman Mike Turner, Chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Tactical Air and Land Forces, released the following statement as the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) has undertaken a test of a nuclear weapon:

Once again the North Korean regime has shown that they are committed to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. This latest development adds to the Obama Administration’s record of failure on halting the regime’s provocative attitude towards its neighbors and the greater global community.

Interested in Running for Office?

Issues:

2012 was a very good year for politics.

State and local politics, that is.

With newfound appreciation in our community for the power of local grassroots electioneering, area voters may well see more newly elected public servants who reflect voters’ strong conservative values in office this year and beyond.

If you or someone you know is interested in running for a local, state, or federal election, please come and talk with us

What Lesson Does Monopoly Teach?

Issues:

Harper’s magazine, talking to Monopoly champion Richard Marinaccio, writes:

“Monopoly players around the kitchen table”—which is to say, most people—“think the game is all about accumulation,” he said. “You know, making a lot of money. But the real object is to bankrupt your opponents as quickly as possible.

Is Our Government This Paranoid?

Issues:

What happens if a government becomes paranoid of the very people it supposedly serves? Within the first year of the Obama dministration, a report came out dealing with “right-wing militia” and essentially reported that much of the conservative establishment is a part of possible terrorist organization.

When I read that the Department of Homeland Security bought enough bullets and arms to fight the equivalent of 24 years of the Iraqi War, I ask myself why? I had to admit, I didn’t even know that Department of Homeland Security had their own security force,

Export Liquefied Natural Gas

Issues:

There is good news about energy. We have untapped natural resources here at home. In the United States, we have natural gas that can be turned into liquefied natural gas. Other nations dont have this. We have so much natural gas that we can export it by selling it as liquefied natural gas. Not only will exporting liquefied natural gas bring money and energy back home, it will create jobs. This means jobs and capital for Americans and American companies.

Even the Department of Energy says that expanded export of liquefied natural gas will benefit the United States economy.
