Texas GOP Vote

The following comment was sent in from a TexasGOPVote reader and law student in Washington, DC:

I was at a party a few weeks ago when I mentioned that I had gone to the Code Red (AKA "Kill the [Healthcare] Bill") rally on Capitol Hill. I was met with bewildered stares from most of my liberal classmates "What were you doing with the Tea Party?!?!" they asked "You're too sane for those people!" I responded that my sanity, capacity to reason, and logic were the REASONS I WAS THERE! The only people that understood my position were my fellow conservative and libertarian classmates (of which we are few!).

There has been much controversy over whether or not a Tea Party protester spit on Missouri Congressman Emanuel Cleaver a couple weeks ago at the Code Red Kill Bill Rally in Washington, D.C. Liberals wanted Cleaver to press charges and Conservatives wanted proof of the incident.   Read more »

Rep. Stupak made a deal with the White House earlier, and will be voting for the health care reform bill. Before the final vote started, John Boehner once again requested that every representative cast their vote one by one, but the request was denied.   Read more »

After massive crowd of tens of thousands of concerned citizens participated in the Code Red Rally to kill the health care bill, thousands converged in front of the Capitol to make their voices heard.   Read more »

Rep. Steve King addressed a large crowd of concerned citizens this evening from the steps of Capitol Hill and said that their voice was heard inside of the Capitol Building! The crowd surrounding the Capitol today made a difference: deem and pass was killed today, and the noise from the crowds could be heard inside of the rules committee meeting and actually caused them to stop and move.   Read more »

After such a successful Code Red rally this past Tuesday, why not have another health care reform protest? Congress is expected to vote on the bill this Sunday, so Rep. Steve King is asking people to come to D.C. tomorrow for one final attempt to kill the bill before Congress is expected to vote on the bill Sunday.
