It's Official, Texas GOP Sets a New Record!

Republican Party of Texas - Here at the Republican Party of Texas, we would like to send a well deserved ’Congratulations’ to Republicans across the state. For the third consecutive year, Texas has set a record by increasing the number of Republican elected officials to an all time high. Nationally, this was not a strong year for Republicans. But, here in Texas, we continue to endorse Republican principles of limited government that continues to produce a stronger job and housing market and balanced budgets.

Our sweeping victories in the 2010 election were fueled by a huge Republican wave after President Obama’s first two years of office produced nothing but more debt and failed policies. This wave helped the State of Texas increase its Republican officeholders from 2,395 in 2008 to 2,974 in the 2010 election cycle. That drastic amount of growth is nearly unheard of and many people expected our majority to decrease in a Presidential year. Read more about It's Official, Texas GOP Sets a New Record!

Cornyn Statement on Pearl Harbor Day

Issues:

Today we honor those members of the Greatest Generation who lost their lives 71 years ago today at Pearl Harbor.

It is because of their sacrifices, along with many others, that freedom overcame tyranny and liberty was restored for millions across the globe.

While we can never repay our World War II veterans or their families in full, today I hope we are each reminded to value the freedoms and way of life these brave Americans fought to secure. Read more about Cornyn Statement on Pearl Harbor Day

Pete Sessions Statement on November Jobs Report

Issues:

Today’s jobs report serves as a reminder that far too many Americans are looking for work, and that any plan to avert the fiscal cliff must prioritize job creation. Raising taxes, as the President insists, will make it more difficult for our nation’s small businesses to hire and will cost a projected 710,000 jobs. Are Democrats Liberal or Socialist?

Issues:

Are Democrats liberal or socialist? Rasmussen had a recent poll in which Democrats were divided by their view on socialism, and Gallup polls showed that the majority of liberals and Democrats had a favorable view of socialism. Rasmussen noted that by nearly a 3 to 1 margin, the average American doesn't really care for socialism, but it is obvious many in the Democratic Party do. So does a party that is sympathetic to socialism by its members a socialist Party? Gallup showed that Democrats viewed the Federal government more positive than capitalism.

Is America No Longer a Christian Nation?

Issues:

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/controversial-painting-at-boston-community-college-depicts-obama-as-christ-with-crown-of-thorns-outstretched-arms/

This election proved one thing; we live in a secular America. Christians were shocked with the realization that we are no longer a Christian nation. Colorado and Washington legalized marijuana while Maryland, Maine, Minnesota and Washington embraced same sex marriage. Didn’t Obama declare the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional? Can legalized prostitution and legalized euthanasia be far away?

Cathie Adams, the International Issues Chairman for Eagle Forum, participated in a press conference organized by CFACT, the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow, in Doha, Qatar on Thursday.

She remarked that the United Nations first "paperless" meeting allowed the negotiations to take place in smoke-filled rooms with absolutely no transparency,

Texas Moving for Change in Employee Misclassification Enforcement

Stop Employee MisclassificationFor over two years now, I have been writing about unethical businesses using employee misclassification as a strategy to create an unfair competitive advantage over legitimate employers in the marketplace. According to an article this week on Construction Citizen, we may finally be moving in the right direction thanks to business leaders, the Texas Workforce Commission, and a bipartisan group of Texas legislators coming together to take action for the upcoming session of the Texas Legislature.

Cornyn Statement on Sen. Jim DeMint Departure

Issues:

Today I issued the following statement responding to news that Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) will resign from the Senate to head the Heritage Foundation:

Throughout his career Jim has been a tireless warrior for conservative principles and a passionate advocate for limited government in Congress and across America.

I congratulate Jim and look forward to continuing to work with him as we fight for the causes and beliefs that we as conservatives hold dear. Read more about Cornyn Statement on Sen. Jim DeMint Departure

Champion Cooler is the largest manufacturer of evaporative coolers in the U.S. and has been in Denison for more than 50 years.
